Evelyn M. McGlory was found dead in her living room when firefighters arrived at her 55 Belknap St. home around 1:45 p.m. after someone called to report smoke pouring from the home, Westborough firefighters said.

A preliminary investigation found that the fire was not intentionally set, but officials "were unable to rule out the unsafe disposal of smoking materials or an electrical event as the exact cause," Westborough investigators said.

The home had smoke alarms, investigators said, but they were not working at the time of the fire.

A Westborough firefighter and police officer were injured battling the blaze after several propane tanks on the home's deck exploded. They were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
